Volleyball Coaches

Alyssa Conn

Director | Coach

Alyssa is the co-owner & co-director of Summit Sports NW. She is entering her 8th year coaching club volleyball and 7th coaching high school volleyball. She played for Sedro-Woolley High School, then played her freshman year of college at Skagit Valley College. After her freshman year of college, she moved to Tacoma and began her coaching career. Once she moved back north, she began coaching at Lakewood High School, where she continues to coach.

"Becoming a coach has been one of my favorite accomplishments in life. Coaching is not just about teaching the skills to be better at the game, it is also about teaching life lessons that athletes can carry with them for the rest of their life."

Cass Abell

Coach

Cass started playing volleyball in 4th grade. She then went on and played through high school and club ball in college. She has coached multiple years at the Boys and Girls club for various age groups.

When she is not at an event for her kids, she enjoys hiking and driving back roads with no destination.

"I LOVE seeing the improvements players make over a season and enjoy being a part of helping them get there. I feel sports play a role in developing core memories and teach life lessons while engaging athletes in something they are passionate about. Being a part of that experience and helping these players make decisions that could impact the rest of their life fills the void of me no longer actively playing. I want to help each one of them exceed their own personal expectations of themselves and show them what their hard work pays off."

DELANIE THEURET

Coach

Delanie has been playing volleyball since 3rd grade and club since her u14s year. She played all through middle school and high school as well, while playing for Blue Royals Volleyball Academy. In her spare time, she loves to hang out with friends and family. She loves going out to do things and spend quality time with people.

“I want to coach at Summit Sports NW because I love being around volleyball and I want to help younger players work their way towards full potential. I want to make a difference in people’s lives and coaching fulfills that for me!”

Elora Johnson

Coach

Elora grew up watching her sister play volleyball which sparked her interest in becoming a player herself. She has played at a competitive level for 5 years and picked up on beach volleyball to stay active and well rounded during off seasons. “There is never a season where I am not playing volleyball.” She has played club and beach volleyball since 13 years old. She has coached beach volleyball for two years and still actively coaches and ref younger players at the boys and girls club. In her free time, she likes to cook and eat really good food, read, write, and build legos.

“I have had some of the most amazing coaches throughout my years of playing and I want to pass down the knowledge and techniques they taught me to continue the coaching cycle and hopefully inspire others to stay connected to volleyball even after the end of their volleyball career. I believe having a good coach is the key to a successful season and having a positive perspective on volleyball. I strive to be the best coach I can possibly be.”

Hayley Muir

Coach

Hayley’s passion for volleyball started when she was 8 years old and joined her first team at the Boys & Girls Club. This enthusiasm only deepened as she moved into club volleyball during her U12 year. In high school, she was fortunate enough to compete in the State Championships for two consecutive years and continued her volleyball journey at Edmonds Community College. Over the course of 11 years, She’s had the chance to master 5 out of 6 positions, gaining a broad understanding and appreciation for every role on the court, which she is now bringing into her coaching!

In her spare time, you can find her chasing around her busy toddler, enjoying a good book or spending quality time with her family at the lake.

"I’m eager to coach at Summit Sports NW because, throughout my 11 years in volleyball, I've been fortunate to have exceptional coaches who served as mentors both on and off the court. I believe that these coaches have significantly influenced who I am today, and I am excited about the chance to give back and support young women in the same way."

Jacki Nyamache

She has played beach at Blue Royals Volleyball Academy for a season. She has also coached a 1st/2nd grade team last year.

In her spare time, she likes to spend time with friends and family. “Typically, we're sampling the latest foodie hotspot or soaking in some new scenic views, each experience is a chance to make some fun memories together.”

“I want to coach at Summit Sports NW because my passion for volleyball goes beyond just playing the game. I've experienced firsthand how this sport can shape character, teach valuable life lessons, and give a player a sense of community. By coaching, I aim to pass on the passion and help grow not only the athletic abilities of the next generation of players but also their teamwork and sportsmanship. I want to be a part of their journey, guiding them to reach their full potential both on and off the court.”

She started coaching right out of high school and then went to play volleyball and softball at a JUCO in Washington. Shortly after that, she continued with her coaching journey. She’s been coaching for over 20 years at various levels in Oregon and Washington. She’s been a head coach at the high school and club levels, three years assisting at junior college level and 1st year as Pierce College Head Coach. Success includes several top 5 finishes at national qualifiers, including 3rd place finish in the American division in 2023 at Spokane Pacific Northwest Qualifier, and earning a bid to 18 nationals at Lone Star Classic in 2022.

When she is not coaching, she is soaking up quality time with her family and two dogs (Tank and Stryker). She loves supporting her husband and her son in their love for cars and drag racing. She also plays softball and volleyball with friends. When she truly has nothing going on, another favorite is just chilling at home watching Crime shows.

“It means a lot to be a part of Summit Sports NW because I want to continue to positively impact and mentor the youth while building relationships with families and fans of Summit Sports NW. I look forward to sharing my passion for volleyball (and sports in general) with others in hopes that they will join in on it and strengthen our community in the process!”
